@Neil – I can’t give personal advice, you understand. But I do currently still own that trust myself. I think listed commercial property will continue to be volatile over the next couple of years, but personally I’m not selling despite 30 to 50% gains since buying in around the time of this article. Note: The F&C trust will also likely be linked to the market movements, as it’s traded and so will be liable to general sentiment. You’d have to look at a unit trust or similar – personally I’d prefer the volatility!

I do want some commercial property exposure to hold for the long term, but I don’t want IUKP or other equity based ETF’s as I find they are too linked with the FTSE.
Checking out the F&C Commercial Property Trust it seems the discount has moved to +13%, do you think its still a good investment for the long term?

I too think it’s a good tome to buy commercial property but would be hesitant to buy an etf that invests in property companies themselves.

I think a lots of them may struggle to ride out the storm..
